Well So far this year I have been to Denver to participate in the DNC and visit with an old friend from my childhood Jerry "Ben" Smith. According to his wife we haven't seen each other in 14 years. I hope that it will not take another 14 years for us to get together. It was good seeing him again and catching up on old times. After that I left for Minneapolis for the RNC activities, which I didn't stay for I was there to help promote one activity. I left for home on the 1st but along the way I found myself taking hooks into another job which is good the more work the more OT. NFL season is in full swing so far I have been to one Brown game, One Bills game, and One Steelers game with more games to be played this year. We are now 31 days until elections and things should start heating up again for OH & PA. I have worked the past two weekends for other new outfits for myself. I did a rally event for BET in Cleveland last weekend and this weekend I am in Akron working for MTV. As for what is next elections, football and my high school 20 year reunion which happens on Oct. 10 & 11 if no candidates show up I can attend but if they make a play on the states I will work rather than play for during this economy work is always better than play.Have a good and I'll be back in another couple of months. Well I am about to embark on a massive road trip soon. I am heading to Denver for the DNC and then off to Minneapolis for the RNC. I know it has been a while since I last updated this forum so I thought with time on my hands I would say a few words. It was a great start to the year as I was hoping for an election year on the road to many new places and developing new friends along the way but also catching up with new old ones as well.

I finally ran into Bob Van from used to be WCNC who now works for the NBC Network out of Chicago. He has always been a good friend and Sat truck op. As for others they come and go as well. The summer was kinda of slow not what I was expecting at all. My summer started with me and mom heading to Niagara Falls for vacation with my friend Sid Michaels from my old days at WBRE and his family. A good time was had by all. We ran the rapids in a Jet boat, walked to see the falls at night and day. Fireworks, my mom road the boat under the falls so she was happy she hadn't been there in 50 years so she had fun. Our next trip will be to Kaui, Hawaii  in April of next year. That will be a new experience for each of us.

As far as I know everyone back in Raleigh is good. Janine in Charlotte is doing great she too will be in Denver for the DNC plus on the 24th will be our Birthday so I am hoping we can get together for a dinner or lunch. Russell is still holding down the fort. Tom Speziale is moving to Concord at the end of the month for a new job, congrats to him. 

Well as I make my trip west I will try to post new pics at each stop so stay tuned.

Well it has been a while since I posted here so I thought I better write a short and sweet note to keep you in touch. Well The New Year started with a bang of cold weather for I was at the Ice Bowl in Buffalo for the first ever US Televised NHL Game Outside at Ralph Wilson Stadium. A tradition that I do believe in the works. Another Steeler game of course and they lost. Well now it is an election year. I have been to the Detroit Auto Show pictures in my albums. Plus I am on the road now coming back from the frozen tundra of Green Bay after the NFC Championship game.

 

Now for some good news I will have a picture on this first page of my website soon of my new truck I bought on January 11th and still have only driven it 24 miles since. It is a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Racing Package, V6, 4x4, and many other extras including Radiant Red in color. Picture coming soon.

Well It has been a couple of weeks since my last post and just wanted to stop by and say hello to all of those still checking out my site. Well my birthday was on the 24th and it went by so badly that words can't define any more. Lets just say I have had better days and leave at that. I guess the best thing is that I get to share my special day with my former supervisor Janine Piburn, yes her photo is within my site just have to know where to look. I will post her picture on the front page here so you can see who I am talking about. 

 I also get to share this day with good friends of mine son. Marc and Karen McCullough son Connor was born on this a couple of years ago. I hope they forgive me I forgot how old he is. But I got to see him back in May when I went to NC for my visit. It was good seeing them all again and hope to continue visiting with all my friends for years to come. You can never have too many friends. 

 Well I am going to end this here now. Hope you all had a great summer and fall is just around the corner as well as winter, don't you just love the snow, if so, check out my Upstate NY Snow pics from the 12 feet of snow near Oswego, Redfield, and Mexico, NY.

Well back on the road for NFL Season. This year will be different but the same except I will be in Buffalo more this year 7 games as of now. Tonight it was the Falcons next week Titans hoping that the Stout man will be coming it will be good to see him again. I called him but no response as of yet. Following the Titans, I will be heading for Detroit to cover the Bills there, Best part of that trip is staying at The Ritz-Carlton love that hotel except for the non-smoking rooms.

What else can I tell you about my adventures. I was in VT of course you all know that then there was the Missing Mom in Canton, OH followed by the Pizza Bomber saga in Erie. Now it is only NFL Season which will occupy my time until vacation in November, yes vacation in November.

Sorry I haven't been able to get a Photo of Bob Dennis for my website, I apologize to you and his family for which my deepest sympathy still lingers.

Well I will end this with this thought. "If you know a Hoss, then you will remember him because there can only be one Hoss that will always stay in touch because that is how I live."

Today I am sitting in my truck at the Cleveland Clinic serving as the Pool truck for the networks. It is a pretty easy day. Had to pull cables yesterday and test everything out. But today I just access and wait for the goodnight which can make for a long day but we all have our crosses to bear. Sorry I haven't been able to find a photo of Bob Dennis yet, hope to soon. Need to send out a email to a couple of folks to see if anyone has one for me. I ran into one of my old friends today as I usually do on this assignment. Molly Henneberg who now works for FOX Newschannel, I knew her back in the day when she was a health reporter on WBRE-TV in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She has made a great move since then and hope she finds all that she wants. I will hopefully post a picture of us together at the end of today. Have a good everyone chat with you all soon. Hoss

Today my friend Sid called. He wanted to let me know that a friend of our's past away on Friday. His name as Robert "Bob" Dennis.  I knew Bob from my days working in NEPA. He was always a true friend and co-worker, never had a bad thing to say about any one. After his son died in 1999 he adopted me as his own. I will always remember him and his wife Carol. I got to see them both earlier this year for breakfast when I went back to NEPA for a visit. He was weak but made time for me. I will post a picture soon so that you can see him as I did, a true friend.  

Mother nature must be playing with me, I come back to NC for the first time and she decides that I must miss Hurricanes so she decided to greet me with a tropical storm off the coast????

As for other matters. Well Friday was great went to dinner with Tom Speziale (If you don't know he is my closest friend in the area), David Ivey ( He is like a brother), Andrea O'donnell ( Little Sister ), and of course the cousin from the other side of the family and I do mean other side Jalil Isa. Yes, you are reading this that Jalil went to dinner with us. I took them to my favorite restaurant in the state, The Lob Steer Inn in Southern Pines. Trust me you need to eat there to know what you are missing. It was a great night we closed the place down and still stood in the parking lot for more chats, about what just guess!!!!!!!

Saturday, I went back to Wake Forest to visit my old home and see what had changed in the area. later in the day I went to visit Dallas Woodhouse, yes Dallas. I got to see his son Jackson, what a good kid with a great mother and good father. later that night meet up with Tom again and went to see a band perform at Lincoln theatre sorry guys but needed ear plugs, then I was put to work shooting there concert and I said I would never pick up a camera again, but this one weighted less than a pound. It was another good night out. It is great being back.

I am in Concord now waiting a little in the hotel before visiting Janine Piburn ( The best supervisor I will ever know in the local TV arena, she has always doen her best by anyone under her supervision. I know there are some out there that miss her back at NBC -17. I can name names, today tomorrow and in the future. I will also be meeting up with Frankie Nester, and Linda, plus Janine's husband Roger. If you ever got to meet Janine you know what I am talking about, she is GREAT!!!

Well I am signing off now, I will post pictures later this week of my visit back to NC. If there is any incriminating pics those will be held for ransom to be determined at a later date and time. Hoss

I am currently in NC visiting old friends. It is good to come back and see friends. I have been enjoying my time chatting and catching up with my friends. To all of those who I have seen, it has been great. To those of you still on the list to be seen, I am here. Send me an email, call me if you have my number.
